Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9

Overweight = 25–29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

  1. Body Fat Percentage

    • Women naturally have a higher body fat percentage than men at the same BMI due to hormonal and physiological differences.

    • Men generally have more lean muscle mass, which can make BMI less accurate for athletic individuals.

  2. Health Considerations

    • For women, a BMI on the lower end might still be healthy, but too low can lead to risks such as hormonal imbalances.

    • Men with a higher BMI due to muscle mass might not be at the same risk as someone with the same BMI due to excess fat.
